Top Seven Riverdale Ships (Four That Make Perfect Sense, And Three That Don't Make Any Sense At

Top Seven Riverdale Ships

As with any hit TV show, especially one of such drama, there has to be those romantic ships. Here are the top seven biggest ones from Riverdale, four that make perfect sense, and three that just don’t make any at all.

1. Bughead (makes perfect sense) Bughead is the ship name for Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones. In my opinion, they are probably the cutest, most complicatedly perfect couple on the show. Perhaps it’s because I relate closely to both of them, but I find myself nearly skipping through other love scenes just to find one of Bughead's. They've had their rocky moments, especially here lately, but at the end of the day, Bughead stays strong. They are very diverse characters, and I think that's one of the reasons I love them together. (Remember when Betty and Jughead got into that fight? Juggie said something like, “You are the perfect girl next door. And I’m the damaged, loner, outsider from the wrong side of the tracks. We’re on borrowed time.”) He was right about a lot of things, but hopefully not that last part. Though they may be from opposite sides of the tracks, they have similar demons that they both struggle with on a daily basis. And that just seems to make them work perfectly together. I guess the fact that their actors, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse, are dating in real life doesn’t hurt either. The onscreen chemistry was irrevocably alluring, and definitely an unstoppable force.

2. Varchie (makes perfect sense) Varchie is the ship name for Veronica Lodge and Archie Andrews, and though it isn’t one of the best ships, it sure is a good one. Who’d have thought the star football player, would end up with the sassy, high class Veronica Lodge? The answer is easy: Everyone. They just made too much sense. Betty gets Archie’s best friend, and Archie get Betty’s. And they work surprisingly well together, balancing each others flaws and perfections. Although personally, I'd rather Archie have stayed with Valerie, as they seemed to work better together. What do you think? Let me know in the comments in via Contact.

3. Beronica (makes no sense at all) Beronica is the ship name for Veronica and Betty. Lezbionest here, that kiss they shared early in season one had us all fanning ourselves, but, let’s also be realistic. I mean, no offense to shippers of Beronica, but I am avidly against this relationship. It would be awesome if they teamed up for a mission of sorts and pretended to be together, but in the idea of a long term relationship, just no. For a number of reasons, the first and foremost being that they are both happily in love with other MALE characters. Veronica is the only one that’s showed any sign of homosexuality, and even at that she’s only showed romantic interest in, well, men. So though it’s an okay idea to entertain, I don’t view it as a realistic one.

4. Choni (makes perfect sense) Toni + Cheryl = Choni = perfection. This is my favorite gay couple, ever. For starters, both characters are beautiful, and unique, and have all the boys and girls fangirling/fanboying, individually. But together, it’s like a cherry bombshell on top of a chocolate milkshake. They are two completely different characters (North Side Queen B, and South Side loner), and we haven't seen much of their relationship, so far, but many other viewers, including myself, already love them. I'm excited to see where they go next season, and how they develop as a couple.

5. Jarchie/Aughead (makes no sense at all. Absolutely none.) This ship between Archie and Jughead has become something of a thing recently, and I have no idea why. I’m sure I’ll have some haters for this post, but I’m being one hundred percent honest here when I say the mere idea makes me want to vomit. First of all, last season Archie betrayed Jughead, saying cruel things in cruel ways just to hurt him. On purpose. Read that again, but slowly: On purpose. Anyone remember when Betty asked Archie to tell Jughead it was over, but as nicely as possible so after The Black Hood business was handled, they could "walk it back"? And how Archie found Jughead and delivered the bad news in the most jerkish way possible? How anyone could ship them after all of that, is beyond me. And even if Archie redeems himself, Jughead has only ever viewed him as a friend, and vice-versa, plus they are both happily in love with other FEMALE characters. I’m sorry Jarchie fans, but I don’t see this ship becoming a reality, and if I’m continuing my brutally honest tirade, that’s a very fortunate thing.

6. Falice (makes perfect sense) So. Much. Yes. Falice is the ship name for Alice Cooper and Fp Jones (Fp standing for Forsythe Pendleton, something I very blondely just came to realize). As a firm supporter of Bughead, it’s hard for me to ship Falice as it would technically make Jughead and Betty siblings (if things escalated) and that would be weird, to say the least. But who can, honestly, not ship these two? They used to date in school, and I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for them to get together once again.

7. Barchie (makes no sense at all) Barchie being the ship name for Betty and Archie. I’ll give you a moment to settle the twisting in your stomach, at the idea of this. For the first two episodes, I wanted them together, but after that, it just didn’t seem possible. Archie said he didn’t have any romantic feelings for her, (well, that he couldn't give her the answer she wanted, which is the same thing) and then he started dating other girls, and fell in love with Veronica, which ruined all

chances of Barchie (for the better if you ask me) Not to mention Betty’s fiery romance with Jughead, that I don’t see ending anytime soon (at least, not permanently). Plus, I circle back to the way he treated her in season two, purposefully going against her wishes and breaking Jughead's heart, when he knew how hard it was for her to break up with him at all. He didn’t care. Let me repeat that: He didn’t care. Not about her feelings, not about how it would affect her, nothing. Not to mention all the other insanely rude things he did to her last season, including not supporting her during The Black Hood business. And, even if he hadn't done all of those things, Archie is more like the protective older brother now, not a love interest. All this being said, I don’t see any chance of them, nor do I want to.

Last but not least. 8. Vughead (Doesn't make any sense at all.) Vughead is the ship name for Veronica and Jughead. These shippers are few and far between, but they do exist. After that kiss between Jughead and Veronica people seemed even more invested in them becoming a thing. Of all the possible Riverdale ships, I view this one as the least possible, as from the beginning Jughead wasn't a fan of Veronica. She's high class, self absorbed, and a bit spoiled: everything he hates. And Jug isn't Veronica's type; football playing, confident, open, and popular guys, are. Which is everything Jughead isn't. Not to mention Juggie's relationship with Betty, however off/on it is (Bughead is endgame, always) and Veronica's with Archiekins. Though I could easily see a permanent or at least long-term ending to Varchie, next season, I don't forsee moving on easily, especially not with someone like Jughead. That kiss in the pool was nothing but Jughead looking out for his future relationship with Betty, it meant nothing to either of them.

Those are the biggest ships I’ve heard thus far, but if you’d like me to include any more in a future blog post, comment or Contact me and I’ll be sure to do so. And don’t forget to subscribe to the mailing list, and become a part of the addicts here at TheRiverdaleAddict.
