Ostara is a bright, and joyous time of year, and easily one of my favorite holidays, Pagan and Christian alike. However, if you are unaware of it's purposes and correspondences, then it is simply a confusing, and dismaying time. This blog post will clear up that confusion, and give you the opportunity to enjoy this holiday, and all of it's deep meanings.

What Is Ostara?
This year Ostara lands on the 20th of March, which as of now, is only mere days away. On this day both night and day are equal in length. Ostara is the time to celebrate fertility, equality, rebirth, life, and the Maiden. This a joyous holiday filled with light fun, and deep significance. It signifies the ending of winter and the beginning of spring, and for spring lovers like me this is one of the greatest of holidays. This day is about the Spring Maiden, who oversees the rebirth of nature, and the Horned God, who oversees the enjoyment and festivities of the new life. Everything is now in bloom, trees are turning green, snow is fading away, and the sun is shining again. This is the best day to start growing herbs, trees, fruits and the like, as it is the day of growth.
