Persephone (Proserpina) (Kore - the Maiden)

Persephone is a true warrior, whose victories were not found in the valor of the battlefield but the depths of her soul.
Persephone is the ancient Greek Goddess of Rebirth and Spring, and Queen of the Underworld. She spends the dark half of the year in the Underworld with her husband Hades, whom she was forced to marry. At the start of Spring, she returns to Earth from the Underworld and joins her mother (Demeter's) side.
Persephone is unique in that she had to adapt to life on Earth and in the Underworld steadily. As Hade's wife, Persephone's rise to Queen of the Underworld was inevitable. That transformation from pure Maiden to tenacious Queen is fascinating, and part of the reason she has called to me so many times. She shows us that we can make the most of wherever we find ourselves and remain kind.
Honor her at Ostara as Goddess of Spring and Rebirth, and honor her at Mabon as Queen of the Underworld. Dedicate a shrine to her in your home, in a place that gets the most amount of sunlight. Give her offerings, especially when calling on her for aid. Offerings for Persephone include pomegranates, fresh flowers, and mints.
Invoking Persephone -
Hail, Persephone-Kore!
I welcome you and your energies;
Queen of the Underworld,
Priestess-Daughter of the Spring.
Hail, Daughter of Demeter!
We thank you for guiding those who pass on
Along with Hecate and her torches,
Showing them the way they must take.
Hail, Psychopomp!
You lead the dead to their final home,
And guide those who dream
Through the labyrinth of their subconscious.
Oh, beautiful and many-faceted!
We invoke you to help us deal
Either with our grief or that of friends
Of those who cross the river Styx.
Comforting Queen, Persephone!
Please lend us your energies to heal
Those who grieve and need to find their way
In this World and the Next.
